Exploring the Uncertainty of Moving with Courage

After living in the same area for much of her life, and feeling very ready for a change, my good friend chose to explore moving to a new city. Her life felt infused with a low-grade stagnant energy and she feared if she didn’t ultimately make a change she’d become withdrawn and insular — she craved a new foundation upon which to build her life.

As we began her exploration, we discussed her answers to the following questions to open her mind to thinking more expansively about her move. [Read more…]

The Influence & Impact of a Choice

Today marked a beautiful example of life coming full circle. Over 6 years ago I attended a workshop when I was at one of the lowest times of my life, I’d ended my relationship with my mother on the drive to the event. Creating this map provided me with a concrete vehicle to document and make sense of seemingly unrelated ideas and experiences floating in my head which allowed me to see how they were related. Each branch represents a new person, experience or opportunity that I either created intentionally or that showed up magically. ⠀⠀

Writing: A Journey of Stops & Starts

The journey of writing my book has been fraught with stops and starts. I never considered myself a writer, but after writing 496 pages, I owned that I had a message to share.  I then had a strong intuitive hit that the book, which I’d originally envisioned would share the learning garnered from exploring other people’s choices, needed to be expanded to incorporate the wisdom and process I’d extracted from creating many personal maps.

How might I do that when I created each of my maps with the rawness of a private journal I never imagined sharing? [Read more…]
